'South West Breakfast Champions' 2009
Thank you to all who joined us at our breakfast party to celebrate becoming 'South West Breakfast Champions' on Wednesday. It was a lot of fun!. Four schools joined us in celebrating being awarded Breakfast Champions of the South West. They were given questionnaires to test their knowledge about why breakfast is such an important meal. Here is Roger with some of the students from Kings School , Bruton.

The Power of Spelt!
In 2 months times Paul Ryman will be entering the New Zealand Iron Man, fuelled by Sharpham Park spelt he has been training none stop for this tough endurance event.
On March 7th 2009 Paul Ryman will be taking on his next challenge. He will be flying to the other side of the world to compete in one of the toughest events on the planet- Ironman triathlon. The race in March will begin at the beautiful Lake Taupo in New Zealand.
Ironman consists of a 2.5 mile swim-112 mile bike and a 26.2 mile run. Competitors from all over the globe will start at 7a.m hoping to complete this gruelling event.
New Zealand will be Pauls 3rd Ironman competition previously completing the event in Nice, France and Lanzarote which is quoted to be the ‘toughest Ironman in the world’. Paul also recently competed for Team Great Britain in the world championships in long course triathlon.
There are many key factors in training for endurance events like Ironman and nutrition is a huge part of it.
Paul has been eating Sharpham Park Spelt as part of his diet in the preparation for his race. We will follow Paul over the next few weeks and learn about his training, nutrition and the ups and downs of training for an endurance event.
